"Best location to explore de Zaanse Schans in all its glory and all within easy walking distance. Sufficient parking available in nearby areas and it’s free. The breakfast is good and if you manage to secure a room with water views you get the best in the house as you can see the windmills from your bedroom window. Nice eateries nearby and a brewery. The hotel has a very nice outside deck with great views over the water and you are sitting behind the glass which protects you from the wind . To truly enjoy, I would recommend two night stay as it will give you enough time to explore and relax."

"Great location just off the motorway with free parking. Walk into town was about 20 minutes which was great after a long drive. Staff very friendly and lovely and spacious rooms. Hoorn is a lovely town."

"This hotel was built in the traditional Dutch manner with a steeped roof and narrow stairs. It was fun to experience staying is a historical building. The lovely gentleman who checked us in was warm and genuine. It was quirky, clean, and a short walk to everything!"

"The only thing that I found slightly sparse was the fact that there was only one luggage cart, and it was not available when I arrived. Which meant that I had to lug my heavy luggage myself. The receptionist was unable to find a helping hand, but ended up helping me herself, which I appreciated. But I do feel that one cart is simply not enough. The renovated room was awesome. Very comfortable and clean. I would have liked a normal coffee maker though. The little cups make strong coffee and there was no milk available. I did appreciate finding real glassware. Bigger mugs would have been wonderful. I would suggest that the hotel prohibits smoking on the balcony. The rooms that bordered my balcony had people in them who smokes. One cigarettes, the other cannabis. So I really could not enjoy the balcony, But... in general I would gladly recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay near beautiful Edam and Volendam."

"Excellent hotel with free parking. Absolutely loved the room, really comfortable and the bath in the room was an unexpected surprise. It is an excellent base to kick off the cycle tour of North Holland. We did a 360km circular lasting six days starting from this hotel and ending on a high at the same hotel."
