Hotel is a former 100-year old mansion that has been beautifully and sensitively transformed into a boutique hotel. Each of the 8 rooms is individually decorated with the upstairs rooms being especially spacious. Room decor is reflective of the colonial era (teak canopy beds, secretaries, decorative antiques) with fully modern amenities (lovely bathroom, A/C, satellite TV). this was a perfect boutique hotel. staff was helpful, room was very good and the restaurant had amazing food. there is only one issue that I had with the room - there were not enough sockets in the wall for a computer, phone, etc. the staff did bring an extra electrical strip but the connections were not tight enough and worked on and off. since there are only 10 rooms the staff gave a lot of personal attention

Stayed here for a few nights and mostly used it as a place to sleep. The hotel was pretty nice for the price. It had a B&B atmosphere to it. The room and the bathroom were fairly clean and comfortable. We felt very safe at this property. For shopping and dining, there's not much in the surrounding area which was the only downside. Overall, would definitely stay here again.

Friendly staff ... good location ... does not surprise me that this hotel has hosted kings and queens during the last 150 years. I got good service from Shayna at the restaurant there ... nice breakfast buffet.

Great location less than 10 minutes to the CMB airport. Cool property with comfortable bed and very unique swimming pool layout.

We recently stayed here for the very first time ( March 2018) for 4 nights. Very centrally located with room facing Indian Ocean, Room was cell kept with comfortable beds and nice clean bathroom. The break first buffet was excellent T with choices of both western and Srilankan cuisine. The roof top bar was a nice addition as well especially during night time for a well lighted night view of the city. I personally thank for Dulsie with the Mint Restaurant who was very friendly and curtiois....

For the price I paid, I had lower expectation. It turned out to be a great hospitality. Rooms were cozy and spacious bathroom. They even provided complimentary breakfast, that was delicious so is the tea. The owner was humble and he had a great customer obsession.

The staff and service were excellent. Rooms were nice and spacious. Roons were clean, thanks to dixon, the cleaner. :) I gave 4 stats as the renovations are on going, and not very convient for guests during renovationd, but will ve finished in a few weeks it looks like. And it looks like they will be great.

Aathma House was amazing! The staff is incredible and so attentive! They were friendly and helpful. Our favorite hotel in Asia so far!!!!

This was a great stay, we came in late after a long flight and just wanted a place to crash for the night before heading south. It was quiet, clean and cool: we had AC and bed was comfy: a private shower/bathroom. My host was lovely and got up early to make us HUGE breakfast before we caught the train in Colombo. He arranged our (reasonably priced) taxi to the station and gave us free fresh bananas from his yard for the ride. 10/10 for the quick stay. Thanks again
