This place was so relaxing and comfortable for the one night stay we did. The resturant was amazing and the only issue we had was some loud guests late night especially as this is a very quite and calm place.
This hotel is near Luebeck but is definitely situated in the country. So, it would be perfect for visiting, and then retreating from this World Heritage city. It would also be great if you had time to relax and just sit in the garden or enjoy the countryside. There are no supporting services out there -- no entertainment complexes or stores -- so the hotel is very much your only resource. But a fine resource it is. Loved our stay! Hotel is in a great location, staff were extremely friendly, especially during breakfast! The cook, and lady in charge of breakfast went above and beyond to provide me with food for my sick dog. Outstanding!
Our room did face the front of the hotel, and they did have a loud party the first night, and of course like most hotels in Germany there was no AC, but despite that we had a great time, would definitely stay here again.

Out in the countryside, Not many people! The spa was a sauna... Not much of spa for a Nordic person. Used to have massage but not any longer. Spa would be bath possibilities... great bar and restaurant.
