Hotels in Miyaura

Every once in a great while you find a place where you wish you could stay extra days. This is one of those places! We had a group of nine people so we booked the entire Omoya house (6 bedrooms) which worked great for us. The cordial host came out to meet us when we arrived. The house is beautiful, and impeccably clean. It is well equipped with lots of dishes, pans, appliances. The grounds are gorgeous, peaceful and quiet. I definitely hope to go back sometime soon!

This hotel is unlike anything I have seen in Japan. It has California/Palm Springs vibes thanks to the modern open air architecture, white washed clean buildings, amazing indoor/outdoor flow, and fantastic location right on the water. We stayed in one of the private cottages which face the water and we had an unobstructed view of the bridge. I have been attracting by Setouchi Shimanami Kaito bike touring for a long time through Taiwanese cycling enthusiasts. At age 75, my wife thinks I am crazy. I booked two nights at Suminoe for 6/17 and 18. The spacious room with ocean view and bidet toilet are very impressive. Miss Wang who is in charge, is very intelligent. She suggested and drove me to the Ikuchijima bike shop to rent a nice one. I started around 9 AM in light rain and stayed cool. No trouble going across Tatara Bridge, but...

Such a quaint and charming place! The hotel reflects traditional Japanese architecture and decor. Very delicious Japanese breakfast. Extremely satisfied!! Close to bunny island too! The hotel staff helped us get a taxi to get to the bunny island dock.

Just the most incredible experience we've ever had in a hotel. So much more that just a hotel, it's a whole Japanese luxury experience. Every member of staff was just incredible - friendly, efficient and really made the experience from the moment we stepped off the dock on the island because they met us there. If you love the idea of staying in a traditional Japanese house, this place is for you. Very clean and quiet. Nice to have access to a kitchen. The host was very warm and friendly. Close to the port, market and delicious restaurants. We were very happy with our stay.

We loved it so much we stayed another night

I became very aware of my American biases based on my first impression. But I quickly found out what a beautiful authentically Japanese experience this was. It’s hard to get there, but if you find the right bus line, you can get from Fukuyama station all the way up to the national park. The property is older and a bit dated, but it just feels historical to me.

Incredible views, a beautiful 100 year old home, and excellent service from our hosts. Highly recommend staying at this iconic location!!

We absolutely loved this place. It was by far our favorite stay during our 10 days in Japan. Definitely recommend spending extra on the dinner, it was amazing.

It was so great that I already booked my return! Excellent, helpful staff. Perfect location. Very comfortable bed and soundproof walls— I’ve never slept so well in a hotel. Great value for the cost!
