We loved the small village feel of Yokote. The Hotel Plaza Annex provided modern amenities, but had an old world charm. The onsen baths on the first and second floor were beautiful and relaxing. We also had an open air wooden hot springs bath in our room, which was very luxurious. Our room was a suite with two beds in one room and a sitting area in the other room. It was very spacious. This was a wonderful, family-friendly hotel. Although not especially convenient regarding access to the station, it would be an amazing place to stay for the Daisen fireworks festival given that it is literally across the street from the festival grounds and has floor-to-ceiling windows on the top floor. This is a fabulous place to stay to see Shinjuku without being overwhelmed by lights, crowds, or noise. It's an easy walk from the Nisei-Shinjuku station or subway lines. Our room was larger than the rooms we had grown accustomed to in traveling Japan. The room was clean and had all the amenities we needed. We added breakfast for 5,000 yen and were pleased with this as well. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
