We absolutely loved our stay at Alva Valley. Great atmosphere, breakfast & amazing customer service with very nice rooms. So nice to escape from the crowds in Porto. We stayed here after our drive through Douro Valley. Highly recommend coming here to unwind.
Wonderful, quiet location away from the regular tourist track. Awesome property with big rooms, great pool, and really wonderful "surprise dinners" made by their chef. The meals here were probably some of the best meals we had in Portugal during our two week trip. The drink and wine selection was also superb! Marta and Ikar were the most perfect and accommodating hosts for this historic and scenic B&B hotel. As owner/operators they made sure we were comfortable and catered too. Local jams and honey and and extra personal touches made this stay worthwhile. Slightly remote but close enough for a 15 minute drive into Tondela. We would definitely stay here again.
We had good directions, a clean, well appointed room, and a wonderful, welcoming morning breakfast. Sonia is a wonderful host and I would recommend this quite spot to all. The room had good air conditioning.
Great location. Check in instructions were clear and made that part of it easy. The property manager was quick to respond to any questions. The street was a little tricky to find. We missed it the first drive by. There is limited parking on the street which is metered. We were fortunate to find a spot. We would definitely stay here again.
