Great hotel and great experience - each room is different and i expected a different room from what i got, if that matters to you make sure in advance perhaps.
Otherwise the food was delicious and the ambient was great
It would have been good to have instructions on how to enter the indoor parking facility. It was a shame also that the charging stations were not operational although advertised as available online. There was no option to check out on the self service screen at the reception.
The receptionist is friendly and speaks English very well, which eliminates the language barrier. The room is very spacious and clean. It look like a small apartment than a hotel. There is a very nice lake near by. It is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The train station is about 10-15 minutes walk.
Fantastic, outstanding place! Super clean, comfortable, nice, quiet, very friendly and so kind hosts (husband and wife), excellent breakfast with tasty homemade sweets, freshly made exquisite coffee, wonderful location near lake, stable Wi-Fi, the most pleasant stay one could only imagine, astonishing experience! Lovely, 10+ stars!!!
Amazing hotel and staff!!!! Spent 4 nights at the gem of a hotel and cannot recommend it more. The staff was unbelievable- from the front desk, servers, housekeeping staff - all were exceptional. The rooms are beautiful and the lake views and Alps are simply breathtaking. Could not ask for more!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Stayed here for my cousin’s wedding this past August, and it was an incredible experience. The hotel itself is stunning — a charming, vintage-style property with a timeless feel. The service was outstanding from start to finish — from the bellman and front desk to the waitstaff, everyone was attentive and welcoming.
The location is perfect — right in the heart of town and within walking distance of everything: the bank, bars, marina, cafés, and restaurants. You truly can’t go wrong staying here....

Extraordinary staff! Spacious room, very clean and the food was out of this world - excellent quality and all made at their facilities. I absolutely recommend, including experiencing the breakfast.
I stayed here for two nights when I attended a wedding in this beautiful little town. The hotel was perfect..clean, well-maintained, friendly staff, a nice restaurant, a great breakfast and in a central location in the old part of town. I loved it and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Schiff am see was a nice, comfortable hotel in Murten. Like most hotels in Switzerland, getting there and around town is a bit of “up and down” walking. The front desk staff, Stephanie and Tina were most helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good and the restaurant is available for evening meals. We had no issues with the room. We are comfortable walking stairs. Murten is an interesting town with an interesting history.
