Candlesticks
10/10 Excellent
"Had a lovely 2 days in Stamford with a one night stay at the Candlesticks, a lovely little hotel run by a wonderful host. Nothing was too much trouble for him, looked after extremely well. A delicious 3 course meal in the candle lit cellar restaurant, a lovely ambiance for a relaxing evening with friends. A nightcap drink at the bar chatting to our host, The next morning a lovely full English with all locally sourced ingredients freshly bought that morning was prepared for us, couldn’t have asked for more. A small parking area beside the hotel is ideal and we were allowed to leave our car there after checking out while we spent a little more time in Stamford before heading home."
Park Inn by Radisson Peterborough
8/10 Good
"Large, comfortable room (although no views really). High point is the breakfast buffet, good selection, served hot"
Rutland Hall Hotel & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"Huge lovely space in the Windsor suite. Good quality buffet breakfast. Possibly the best buffet breakfast we’ve had. Only downside was that the hotel still advertises squash, badminton, table tennis and table football but these were actually not really available, with a few of them dumped in a leaky squash court. That should be taken off the website."
Cley Hall Hotel
8/10 Good
"Top breakfast, well cleaned rooms and helpful staff. Lots of parking spaces at the front and side. Positioned very close to the town centre and restaurants."
The White Hart Hotel, Boston, Lincolnshire
10/10 Excellent
"Staying at the White HART would be an acquired taste. It probably wouldn’t suit all customers. However, it had old world charm and we were given a suite, so we were really pleased. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The bath in the middle of the bedroom was a bit funky, but there’s always the shower in the bathroom. There was parking available when we returned from the seaside around 10 o’clock. We had really good sleep conditions and breakfast was excellent so we had a really great stay."
Tulip Queen, Spalding by Marston's Inns
10/10 Excellent
"Its a chain place, standard stuff really with loads of food options close by."
Holiday Inn Peterborough West by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"Easy and quick check in &5 per night for parking so be prepared for that otherwise you’ll suffer a penalty charge as car park is under private contract Room was clean and bed was comfortable but pillows were soft and lumpy for my liking Buffet breakfast had a wide variety of choices with a automated pancake making machine which the wife took a liking for and reported that they were really good Overall we stayed one night and had a great nights sleep"
The Pearl Hotel
8/10 Good
"Great location and clean room. Breakfast very poor. Asked for scrambled eggs on toast and received toast on top of scrambled eggs which were light brown in colour and tasted foul, rubbery. Maybe don’t offer breakfast and take some money off the room price. Had to buy breakfast in Greggs which should not be the case as the hotel should supply edible food."
Belton Woods Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort
8/10 Good
"Our quadruple room was very clean and comfortable. It overlooked the golf course which was fun. The pool was great - our kids loved it. You were provided free pool towels every time you swam plus the changing rooms were brilliant - swimming costume dryers, lovely shower gel etc. The surrounding woods were brilliant for walks - our doggies loved it. The all you can eat style buffet breakfast was lovely - the kids especially loved the pancakes which you just had to ask for along side other cooked items like porridge and omelets. Check in was a little awkward as they wanted to charge £25 per dog per night (£100) which we weren't informed about via Hotels.com - the staff member insisted this was on the hotel website but I explained that we didn't book via the website. So in the end we had to keep the dogs in the open back of the pick up which wasn't ideal. Some younger members of wait staff were a little moody and unfriendly but in the whole it was fine."
