"The reception staff were really welcoming, the room was clean, comfortable and quiet. It is a well presented hotel and in nice surroundings and location. Breakfast was really nice and good quality. My only criticism was in the evening in the bar the staff were at times not as responsive as they could be such as bringing condiments and taking time to serve on the bar/getting orders wrong. It didn't effect the overall stay and the food quality was brilliant. I would definitely return."

"First time stating in hotel although haven to Dales many times before. Overall it’s fine but not fabulous. Food is good, tasty especially the breakfast . Personally preferred the bar food to Palmers. Service was variable but most staff were very attentive. Room was comfortable, especially the bed, great shower, large TV. No air con and noisy when window opened as our room ‘ Aysgarth’ was main road facing . Generally the carpets needed a good clean on the stairs and landing . Sadly weather was bad so couldn’t explore the gardens where they are having a large number of lodges built - should be good . Overall not too bad at all but not stay there again."

"This property seems dated and very plain. No staff to assist with luggage. Only one restaurant was open and the food seemed overpriced. The fire alarm went off twice in the middle of night requiring room evacuation to standing outside of the hotel. 30 minutes after getting back into the room, the alarm goes off again. Breakfast was basic, --the standard, eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, black pudding, but only one type of yogurt, little fresh fruit,"

"The only downside was breakfast only one staff member to take order and cook as well which meant the self service area was not restocked so there was no juice or cutlery left so had to improvise. Area very small had to move table backwards and forwards to get legs under table from both sides. Long wait for breakfast and only one piece of toast would be better with 2. Plus side excellent coffee machine fresh coffee flavoured syrups and able to choose type of coffee. Bar well equipped friendly staff and very reasonable on price"
