Absolutely extraordinary property. Easily the best property in Sancerre. However, when we stayed the restaurant had to shut down for a mechanical difficulty, thus canceling a reservation that we were really looking forward to. Still, a spectacular hotel with some of the coolest views of the Loire to be seen.
The home was classical French, in my mind anyhow, which made it perfect. The room was on the third floor so, perhaps, not ideal for folks with disabilities, but there were other rooms, and I enjoyed the walk up the stairs. No elevator was available. The home was enclosed behind a secure fence with a coded gate. The grounds were neatly landscaped and presented a felling of serenity and relaxation, which was so appreciated after an overnight flight of 8 hours.
I loved this hotel!!! The room was beautiful and spacious. The restaurant was amazing! The courses were delightful, the cheeses were amazing and the wine was delicious. I would love to come back here again.
This was a great hotel with friendly staff. There are not a lot of options for food/drink within walking distance, but there are multiple villages with a 5 mile radius.
A truly amazing place. Hosts are wonderful. We will go back - and bring friends next time - for sure. A wonderful country chateau. Home cooked meals. Gorgeous gardens. Stunning grounds. Beautiful home, full of books and art. This is not a fancy or high-end luxury experience; but a beautiful and charming rural experience with a great deal of grace, serenity, nature, culture -- if you like books, dining, wine, and nature, book several days here. Bruno and Marrianne are lovely to be around.
What a wonderful stay we had! Nicole the hostess was lovely . The breakfast was superb! We made little sanwiches for our lunch with the bounty! Felt like we were staying in a beautiful part of history and close to everything!
Excellent place to stay in Sancerre - incredibly modern, right downtown and easy to get to. Our host was also amazingly welcoming, helpful with all we needed. If we return we’ll absolutely stay here.
This is a simple and affordable hotel great for a night or two while traveling through the region by car. Staff is very professional, hotel is clean and quiet. Simple but very nice breakfast.
This place oozes charm. The manager/owner speaks impeccable English. We particularly enjoyed meeting Mimi, the incredibly friendly cat who (with a wee bit of canine assistance) diligently patrols the yard.
