If you can't wait to get to the beach, you might enjoy a trip to Bugibba Beach in the heart of Qawra. Enjoy the sunset by the shore at Mellieha Bay, Armier Bay Beach, and Golden Sands Beach.
If you're planning a bit of sightseeing during your trip, head to Sliema Promenade— just one of the landmarks located 0.5 mi (0.8 km) from central Sliema. Hotels.com travelers also say the area is full of friendly people and has lots of nice beaches. It's also full of great shops and restaurants, so you can spend the afternoon having a wander.
"Stunning view on St George bay and sea. Access to swim in the bay striaght from the hotel. Good breakfast choice. It can be loud in the evenings. This area of St Julian has lots of entertainment like bars and clubs. In total we enjoyed our stay at the Verde."
"Overall, the hotel and location exceeded our expectations. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable.
We ate at all the restaurants on site and used both pools and the private beach area. The food was great at all places and all had great views of the Mediterranean. I recommend the onsite breakfast buffet as well. Service was great, everyone was friendly and professional. George at the concierge was especially helpful in planning various activities around Malta. We really enjoyed the private hotel area along the water. A lot of water front for swimming and snorkeling and with great views. The two pools were nice too. However, dont expect sandy beaches but the lounge area is just as good without the sand (not has messy either).
Easy to get transfers from the hotel such as taxis or a bus.
The only thing we were not aware of is that the area near the hotel in St. Julian is the 'party' area with clubs and bars. However, the resort is large enough that we didn't hear the noise or were bothered by the party streets.
The resort is great for families as well and we would definitely stay here again."
"Our first time to Malta and we clearly made the right decision to stay on the West Coast for a peaceful rest, amazing beaches and outstanding customer service at the Radisson Blu. Shout out to all the restaurants for quality and delicious meals, we visited them all and the attentiveness was amazing.
Pros: Private beach, clean pools, spacious public areas, bus stop to Valletta just outside, beautiful sunsets.
Cons: No party vibe, just 1 restaurant in walking distance."
"Lovely clean room and very spacious.
Check in was busy and staff did not explain anything about the hotel or the facilities.
Very busy around the pools but there are plenty of loungers - although I don’t think the hotel was at full capacity so unsure what it would be like if it was full.
Nice pool bar and great views out to sea, Comino and Gozo.
Great little shop. Really easy to book taxis and airport transfers from desk inside the hotel with very helpful staff member.
The Italian restaurant food was lovely but staff again did not explain when handing out menus what dishes were not available.
The lobby bar was good and staff there were great. All in all we would go back."
"Perfect stay for me. Friendly and helpful staff, the pools were lovely, rooms were clean and I even got an upgrade which was greatly appreciated. Would love to come back. Good restaurants close by and the beach was not far of a walk."
"On arrival as we were checking in we were brought a lovely cold local drink which was very refreshing. We were surprised to discover our Junior Suite was on an Executive floor, which meant we were able to use the Executive lounge while waiting for our room to be ready which was very pleasant as we were tired from our journey. Our room was beautiful with a sea view and a balcony from which we were able to watch the sun set each evening. The hotel staff were very attentive and our room was cleaned each morning and turned down each evening.
At Check-in we had mentioned it was our anniversary during our visit as are were asking about a nice restaurant to book, and had a lovely surprise when we returned to our room on the day to a folded towel display of swans/hearts, with a poem, chocolates and a bottle of prosecco on ice!
Breakfast was a buffet on the lower floor. There was an excellent choice of foods, including local treats, and you could order coffees, freshly squeezed juice and omelettes cooked to order.
The hotel is part of a group with 2 others and you could use the facilities of all. There were 3 outdoor swimming pools and an indoor one with a jacuzzi, however our favourite place to swim was in the sea at the Lido. There were plenty of lounge chairs and parasols for shade and staff from the poolside restaurants regularly passed by to take drinks/food orders. We particularly enjoyed the cocktails!
We are already planning on next trip!"
